From a bet to the belt
Sean Bruce's boxing career started with a flippant bet. It ends, if he has his way, with a world title. In between sits the kind of story you can't write: a Leicester lad who turned a dare into a profession, won the Midlands Area super flyweight title, took a razor-thin defeat days after a family tragedy in camp — and came back stronger.
On 28 February 2026, at the historic York Hall in Bethnal Green, Sean beat Alfie Clegg to become British Flyweight Champion — winner of the Lonsdale Belt, the most prestigious prize in domestic boxing.
In his corner is Rendall "2 Tone" Munroe — former WBC #1, European, Commonwealth and English champion. A man who worked the bins while fighting his way to the top of world boxing. Together they're proof that graft, discipline and standards beat circumstances.
